Texas Rangers outscore Orioles 11-8 taking 2-0 lead in divisional playoff series

The Texas Rangers outscored the Baltimore Orioles 11-8 Sunday in Baltimore Sunday taking a 2-0 lead in the divisional playoff series.

Mitch Garver led the Rangers hit parade. Garver was 2-for-6 with a grand slam and 5 RBI.

The winning pitcher for Texas was Cody Bradford. Bradford pitched 3.2 innings of relief allowing no runs while striking out 4 and walking none.

Rangers rookie left fielder Evan Carter got on base 3 more times Sunday with a double and 2 walks. Carter bats in the 5 spot and the 21-year-old has been one of the reasons the Rangers have been playing so well as of late.

“I said so many things about him, I don’t know what else I can say about him. This kid has just handled himself so well. “He’s  gifted hitter and he puts together some great at bats,” Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. “He just sees the ball so well.

Rangers shortstop Corey Seager etched his name in the record books Sunday. Seager walked 5 times in the game, the most walks in a single game by 1 player in MLB post season history.

Next up for the Rangers

Texas will host the Orioles in game 3 of the 5-game series Tuesday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington. If the Rangers win, they will sweep the Orioles and advance to the ALCS.
