Pleasant Grove High Hawk Defensive End and Tight End Lance Jackson announced his commitment to Texas Sunday afternoon.
Jackson, who is 6-foot-6, and 260 pounds chose the Longhorns over Arkansas and Tennessee.
“I just know they will get me to my full potential. I love the way coach PK and coach Sark coach. Also, I think PK is just a good dude. When my brother was getting recruited by him when he was at Washington it was one of his favorite recruiters as well,” Jackson told a media source. “I love the town of Austin and just know it’s where I want to be.”
Jackson plays offense and defense
Jackson is a great pass rusher. However, he also has excellent receiving skills and soft hands making him a great tight end.
Lance Jackson is an all around athlete. He’s not only an outstanding football player but he’s an excellent baseball player too.
Jackson pitched on the Plesant Grove Hawks baseball team his freshman.
In football , Jackson earned MaxPreps first-team Freshman All-American honors at tight end as a freshman in football before being named a Texas District 10-4A DII first-team selection at tight end and defensive end as a sophomore.
In Jackson’s sophomore year, he had 63 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and two passes broken up.
